Autistic Savant Explains Why it’s so Difficult to Talk Over the Phone

I can NOT take credit for this video it belongs to artist Remrov creator of the Remrov’s World of Autism channel on YouTube.

I do ok on the phone if I am in a place with no distractions but definitely feel the surge of anxiety every single time a notification goes off.

Please do check out Remrov’s YouTube channel and subscribe for more great content.

  1. Wow, I’ve always stayed away from phone conversation except to exchange specific information (about when and where to meet, for example) but I could never say why. This actually explains it. I’m a 52 yo undiagnosed female. I developed a lot of detailed algorithms for getting along, passing for “normal”. I only recently self diagnosed when helping my daughter’s to get diagnosed. Everyday I discover some quirk I thought was unique to me that is actually a symptom of ASD. This phone thing makes me sad and relieved. I don’t know why. Thanks for writing.
